Roadmap
Aphera is in active development, with a new release every two weeks. We don’t commit to release dates for new features — good things take time — but we recognize that each photographer has a few tools they just can’t live without. This roadmap covers some of the bigger things we have planned, so you can judge whether Aphera fits how you work. Along the way you’ll see bug fixes, polish, and changes that come straight from community feedback.

Transfer from SD
So much workflow friction comes from simply getting files off of your camera’s SD card and onto your computer. Transfer lets you set up a repeatable system to ingest to your preferred file structure, then start working in Aphera with one click.
Histogram
We’re big fans of editing by eye with a controlled surround color. But we’ve heard from many users who use histograms and other visualizations to understand their edits. Histogram, Waveform, and Color Waveform are coming to the app.
Improved Denoise
Better results in low light and at high ISO. We’re building a next-generation denoise engine that preserves real detail while clearing away noise, replacing what’s in the app today.
macOS Golden Gate
We’ll make sure the app works flawlessly when the new OS ships. Aphera 1.0 will continue to support macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26 Tahoe.

Apple Photos Support
Many of you keep your library in Apple Photos. We’re building direct support so you can bring those photos into Aphera without duplicating files or breaking the organization you already have.
Dust Removal
Sensor dust catches up with every photographer eventually. We’re building automatic dust and spot detection with one-click removal. Cleaning up a whole shoot should take seconds instead of hours spotting every frame by hand.
